Our full name is The Burrendale Hotel Limited known as The Burrendale Hotel, Country Club & Spa. We will be the data controller in respect of any personal data you provide to us. This term “data controller” is a legal phrase used to describe a person or entity that controls the way personal data is used and processed.

  • Also, when you access our website or wi-fi facilities, your device’s browser provides us with information such as your IP address, browser type, access time and referring URL which is collected and used to compile statistical data. This information may be used to help us to improve our website and the services we offer, and to offer services to you.

Personal Information from Children

We do not enter into contracts with children. Children can only become club members when a parent/legal guardian is also a club member.  Should a parent/legal guardian wish a child to become a member, the child’s data will then be taken with the consent of the parent/legal guardian.  Please note that these details are required to fulfil the performance of the contract.

What we use your information for and what are our legal bases for doing so

We use the personal information we hold about you for a number of different purposes, which we list below. Under data protection law we need to have a valid legal basis for using your personal information, we also set out below the legal bases which we will be relying upon.

We will use the personal information we hold about you for the following reason: 

• To provide you with the goods/services you have purchased
• To enforce our contract with you and inform you of any changes to the contract

In both of these cases the legal basis that we will be relying upon to process your personal information will be because it is necessary for the performance of the contract between us. Failure to provide such information will prevent us from providing you with such goods and/or services.

How long do we keep your information for?

We retain personal information about you for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Statement, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law.

We will destroy your personal information as early as practicable and in a way that the information may not be restored or reconstructed.

If printed on paper, the personal information will be destroyed in a secure manner, such as by cross-shredding and incinerating the paper documents, if saved in electronic form, the personal information will be destroyed by technical means to ensure the information may not be restored or reconstructed at a later time.
